Elasta QP gone bad?

Hey guys as you know I used Elasta QP daily throughout my hair regimen which began September 2010. I raved about how moisturising it was, Winter, Spring and Summer! However when I was 18 weeks post in May (remember when I considered transitioning?) I noticed Elasta QP was not as moisturising. Literally, I applied my moisturiser in the morning and by midday my new growth would be dry again :(. Nevertheless, after relaxing I still continued to use it daily, but by the end of July, it just was not doing the job anymore. I ran out of this moisturiser at the end of July and have no plans to repurchase. I did do a search on Hairlista as to why it may be drying and some posters stated it is because it contains mineral oil it is not able to moisturise the hair properly. I have researched replacement moisturisers and so far I have found the Bee Mine Luscious Balanced Cream Moisturiser which I plan to purchase shortly from http://www.britishcurlies.co.uk/

Check out the ingredients list:
Distilled Water, Hydrogenated Persea gratissima (Avocado) Seed Oil, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil (and) Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Persea gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Emulsifying wax, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Paraben & Formaldehyde Free Preservative & Fragrance (Coconut Cream).

AND it is silicone free, I think I've found my replacement staple moisturiser!

  2. I agree, Luscious is great!!! I find it very similar to Elasta QP Mango Butter & Olive Oil but with all natural products.

Have you tried clarifying your hair to see if that helps with enabling the product to moisturise your hair?
