London Girly Monthly Rundown

I have been buying…a few bits...finaaally got my hands on some Joni jeans from Topshop after almost a year of wanting. I have been purchasing some Spring/Summer bits...I purchased this light blue top which I am wearing in this video. I got a H&M bag, looked very Zara-ish to me so I got it for £12.99, similar one here. I really want to update my Spring/Summer nail polishes and lipsticks. I am a sucker for Barry M gelly nail polishes- cheap and long lasting and they have released 3 new colours! It was 3 for 2 at Superdrug so I got Huckleberry, Rose Hip and Pomegranate. I bought a cheap £1 lip pencil from MUA as I would like to try the Orange lip trend and I think it would look waay better with a lip liner.

I have been eating at…a few places and I have made healthy choices :).

I also tried the Leggera Salmon Salad at Pizza Express it was lovely.
Also had to make time for a cheat meal lol- kelewele, jollof rice and beef stew one of my fave dishes:

I have visited…the park...a few times. Especially as I am training for a run, so I have been running through the park and it has been fun! I actually went to BlueWater as well for the first time and it is huuuuuge! I need another trip back as there was no time to explore the whole shopping centre.

Next month I’m looking forward to…more shopping lol. I just want some ripped jeans...I tried these on but the ankle grazer look does not work on me at all. I also want to buy a jumpsuit.

Next month I hope to splash some cash on…clothes but also some homeware- I may do a haul video. But I do need some wall art and pictures my walls are bare!

I have been eating at…a few places, mainly Indian. I of course get my usual chicken korma unless I have a cold (which I did at the start of the month) it is a spicy chicken biriyani!
I also went for (another) afternoon tea for Mother's Day!

I have visited…the park...a few times. The weather has become a lot brighter and warmer and I have gone for a few strolls - it has been lovely!

Next month I’m looking forward to…SHOPPING! After a few family celebrations I FINALLY get to spend some money on ME!

Next month I hope to splash some cash on…clothes, clothes and more clothes! I may actually post a haul on this blog or do a video.

I have been buying…a lot of homeware stuff. Hence, last month I did not buy much because I was saving up for this. If you don't know I have purchased my first ever home yaaaay! So I've been running round like a headless chicken in Matalan, Homebase (for paint) and Argos- all three shops which I really reccommend! I also placed an order at Wilko. Although tbh the house did come fully furnished...but you know when you want to put your own stamp on somewhere? Yep that.

I have been eating at…not many places. I did go to Birmingham for one night (spa and Christmas markets). I ate at Jimmy Spices which is a multi-cuisine buffet restaurant. I had Chinese, Indian, Japanese and Italian :)

Next month I hope to splash some cash on…apart from xmas presents I really want to place an order with MissGuided. I decided for the first time ever to buy myself a Christmas present and gave myself a small budget of £50. However my trolley is currently almost £150. Help!

Next month I’m looking forward to…a week off from work :)- which I am currently enjoying this week.

Next month I hope to splash some cash on…xmas presents! Woop and a few Christmas related trips i.e. Winter Wonderland, Xmas Markets in Birmingham - I'm a huuuuge fan of Christmas. I just love the cold, snow, decorations, family time, food - everything!

London Girly Monthly Rundown

I have been buying…a few bits. I purchased two treggings (trouser leggings) and a t shirt with my Zara voucher if you want to see it live and in colour click here. Did you know the biggest size they sell is a 12/14?! You really know how to make a girl feel fat lol

I have been eating at…the seaside. This was part of my cheat day (one day a week I eat whatever I want for one mealtime). I have a renewed love for cod and chips (see below). I also ate some lovely things on my birthday, click here if you are interested :)

I also tried Honest Burger in Brixton Village (since when did Brixton have a village?!), it was great value for £10 for a burger, chips and a drink. It was tasty!

I have visited…Milan for pictures click here. The seaside, Clacton on Sea specifically (just beyond Southend) it was really nice! I was surprised because I had never heard of it before. But I loved it. I also went to African Fashion Week, my vlog is here

I also went to Notting Hill Carnival for the first time (children's day doesn't count!). I had sooo much fun- the weather was good, the music was amazing and I got recognised from Youtube (first time ever yaaasssss!). It was extremely packed but it was so good just to dance, sing and all different races (and even police officers) have fun in unity :)

Track of the month...Wizkid ft Femi Kuti- Jaiye Jaiye. I just love the instruments in this song

Next month I’m looking forward to…hmm not sure!

Next month I hope to splash some cash on…a few things. I want a jersey shirt (look for a wishlist post soon) and a tartan skirt (key trend for Autumn)

I have visited…Thorpe Park and rode six rollercoasters. It was a hot day but I had a lot of fun! For a Saturday I didn't queue too long, I rode Stealth (pictured below on the left, for hardcore people only lol), The Swarm (meh) backwards, Nemesis (relaxing), Detonator, Saw (a bit scary) and Rush (pictured below, on the right never again!)

Track of the month...Ciara ft Nicki Minaj 'I'm Out', love this song and her performance at the BET Awards. Ciara is slyly underrated in my opinion.

Next month I’m looking forward to…my birthday! Wooop! My kind mother has booked an afternoon tea and a manicure for me. I will definitely upload pictures!

Next month I hope to splash some cash on…not sure, I think I have done enough shopping for now!

London Girly Monthly Rundown

I have been buying…a few bits! New hair click here for info, I also purchased these trousers from New Look, and a midi dress and some cute black plimsolls from New Look. I also got this bright neon skirt from River Island I was pining for in my last monthly rundown and a crop top (which I've already managed to get dirty smh).

I have been eating at…Nandos - yes as usual! My standard meal I blogged about in the last monthly rundown- half a chicken, sweet potato mash (which I tried for the first time and loved!), pitta and halloumi cheese (standard). Also I went to Harvester's and had BBQ ribs with mashed potato and a white chocolate sundae best for dessert. It was so delicious and I love the fact they have the calories printed enabling me to make healthy food choices.

I have visited…no where interesting lol. I have booked a holiday to Milan in July which will be lovely.

Track of the month...I've selected an underrated track- Body Party by Ciara...see if you can notice the sample. I think she's such a great dancer

Next month I’m looking forward to…a few lovely family events- my mother's retirement party, Father's day as well

Next month I hope to splash some cash on…trousers...I need some asap. I'm looking at high waisted trousers- either these from Topshop or these from River Island. I'm also on the hunt for a formal dress or two for some upcoming events.

London Girly Monthly Rundown

At the moment I am in Ghana on holiday- I'll be back in 10 days but have got some scheduled blogposts for you guys :). Upon my return I am planning a giveaway, it's about time after almost 18 months on Youtube and almost 2 and a half years blogging!

I have been buying…nothing...well nothing for myself. In March it was my brother's birthday (I planned a surprise birthday party cue major stress but it worked out well and we had a lot of fun!), mother's day and my mum's birthday. My dad's birthday is in 5 days soo all of my money is going on them! However the next payday will enable me to resume my normal shopping habits :). The only hair related thing I purchased was castor oil (I already have some but I must have a back up that's how much I love it)

I have been eating at…home? lol. I did go to Franky and Benny's and have a carbonara calzone, garlic bread and lovely apple crumble with custard. Yum! I also went to my local Indian and as always I had chicken korma, naan and onion bhajis.

I have visited…the 02 to see So Solid in concert. It was amazing...it was everything...it gave me life! I can't describe the vibe well if you weren't there but everyone was just having fun and singing along. I can't believe I knew all the words and turned into an MC for the night lol. (Just in case you are an international reader So Solid is a 25 member garage collective who formed the 90s, were very successful in the early 2000s but were basically prevented by the police from touring the UK. Therefore this was their first ever concert)

Track of the month...I'm definitely going to pick a So Solid tune. This was the first ever song I heard from them, and their first top 40 song too.

Next month I’m looking forward to…shopping again!

Next month I hope to splash some cash on…some high waisted trousers or leggings, maybe these from Topshop and this jumper is so cute I want it too. Judging by the snow we had after the first day of Spring (yes after!) I will probably need a few jumpers.

London Girly Monthly Rundown

I have been buying…ALOT! In fact too much *covers eyes*. One thing that was free was my mobile phone upgrade- I am now the owner of a Samsung Galaxy S3. After 3 years I am getting rid of my Blackberry and embracing something new. I purchased Timberland boots, Nike Leopard Print Blazers, a monchrome shirt and made my first ever ASOS order and bought this jumper in the sale. I've also bought a few beauty bits- some lipsticks, nail polish and hair stuff (a Giovanni shampoo I will review and I repurchased Aubrey Organics). Also a BILLY bookcase from Ikea to store my shoes. Erm I think next month I will not be buying anything!

I have been eating at…not many places...I have made a little trip to Nandos. After all I had 2 tokens for a quarter chicken and a half chicken that I had to claim well that's my excuse

I have visited…two zoos! Yes two- London Zoo (which I've been to about 5 times) and Chessington (first time to the zoo). I reccommend going to London Zoo in the Summer especially as they are refurbishing quite a few parts of it. I really enjoyed Chessington Zoo. I saw penguins (twice), lions (twice), monkeys, giraffes, bearded pigs, pigs, meerkats (twice), fish, sharks, starfish etc.

Track of the month...I've gone old school! A mixtape I downloaded had both of these songs on it. I couldn't decide between which one to post as I love them both!
Mase: Feel So Good

Redman: Da Goodness

Next month I’m looking forward to…my holiday to Ghana for some R&R

Next month I hope to splash some cash on…nothing- welll maybe some high waisted jeans wouldn't go amiss.

Happy New Year! Final London Girly Monthly Rundown of 2012

I have been buying…too much! I didn't find many of the sales great to be honest. I did pick up these heels for half price they were only £10 at New Look.

I have been eating at… Nando's! I've been there twice, first I had a chicken burger with rice and a pitta with halloumi cheese. Then three days later (I know!) I had half a chicken (which I couldn't finish), rice and a pitta with halloumi cheese lol. I swear my stomach is shrinking because before I could easily devour half a chicken and two sides eek!

I have visited…Brighton, my family and I went away on Boxing Day for two days. It was lovely- eating, chilling, drinking and shopping. I love Brighton, this was my 3rd hotel break there.

Track of the month...I heard this on the radio and I was like damn!!! Miguel "Adorn" (Bad Boy Remix). Remember when Bad Boy was popular? And Nelly? And So So Def? Lol those were the days!

Next month I’m looking forward to…continuing my healthy eating and exercise regime. I've recently changed my workout to incorporate more weights and really cleaned up my diet. I've definitely seen more of an improvement and tone!

Next month I hope to splash some cash on…nothing lol. I've shopped so much I need a break!

Friday, 30 November 2012

London Girly Monthly Rundown

I have been buying…not a lot apart from workwear (a Primark dress and skirt and H&M blazer for £35 - bargain!)

I have been eating at… home- I am trying to eat healthily, and it's going okay

I have visited…Oxford Street (see pic below). I never usually go up to Central London but I was interested in seeing the Christmas lights (and checking out the brand new Primark on Tottenham Court Road which is amazing- I didn't even have to queue!). I love that Christmassy feeling.

I also checked out Southbank Christmas market. I'm a huge Christmassy person lol- I've picked out my decoration, bought some Yankee Candle Christmas samplers. I also plan to visit Hyde Park's Winter Wonderland.

Track of the month...I think I'm going to take it old school, lol. I am/was a huge fan of UK grime music. I heard this song on a recent mix CD I received and it bought back memories :). It is "Oh No" by So Solid

Next month I’m looking forward to…Christmasssssss! So excited for spending time with my family, buying presents. I can't wait!
Next month I hope to splash some cash on…my family. It's definitely time to show how grateful I am for their ongoing support/love so I have some great ideas up my sleeve.

Wednesday, 31 October 2012

London Girly Monthly Rundown

I have been buying…a lot of Winter things! Gloves, hats- the clocks have gone back and the cold weather is starting to kick in. I want to prepared so if you want to see what I have bought click here on my beauty/fashion blogpost

I have been eating at… Indian restaurants...not good for my cholesterol but twice in one month is okay. Both times I had chicken korma, onion bhaju, naan bread and rice- bit boring but if it's not broke...

I have visited…The BEFFTA Awards (Black Entertainment, Film, Fashion, Television and Arts) my brother was up for best male model and I went to the Hippodrome this past Saturday night to support him. He did not win but it was a great night regardless. And Trevor McDonald was there. It was hosted by Eddie Kadi and if you have seen him before he is hilarious!

Track of the month...okay back to track of the month (after what feels a year of me doing "afrobeat track of the month". I am surprised I love "Adorn" by Miguel...I do not like slow R&B songs at all unless it's by Aaliyah. But I love this song, very catchy and he is very talented:

I've been reading...not much at all...oh dear
Next month I’m looking forward to…Christmas shopping. I lovveeee Christmas- the cold, the Christmas markets, the snow (I hope!), family time, the decorations everything!
Next month I hope to splash some cash on…a Christmas present for myself. That would be nice, currently I am thinking about getting the Ipad Mini, hmmm. I do not own an Iphone but I hope to upgrade in February. I know some people have said it's like a big Iphone but I'm not sure I'm babbling on anyway if I get it I'll blog about it ;)

Saturday, 29 September 2012

London Girly Monthly Rundown

I have been buying…a few pieces for work. So far I have purchased 2 dresses from H&M, a New Look blazer, a skirt from H&M and a pair of Primark trousers. I'm trying to steer away for Primark as I have realised it is quality over quantity.

I have been eating at…Chiquitos (Mexican restaurant)! I went there for my birthday and I went there on Friday. I've had the enchiladas, chimichangas, tapas tray - I reccommend them all and I love their desserts! I always get the garlic flatbread with cheese to start.

I have visited…Jamaica. Okay, I did return on the 2nd September but I loooved it! My vlog is on my youtube and I have some pictures here.

Afrobeat track of the month...huuge song in Ghana- Vera by D Black. I am upset I can't go to Ghana for Xmas (£1000+ for 2 weeks no ma'am!)...but at least I get to still listen to the music :)

I have achieved...100+ subscribers on Youtube. I am happy, it'll be a year in November since I filmed my first video and with little promotion I am satisified with the number of subscribers I have.

I've been reading...Jodi Picoult books (I read 3 on holiday)
Next month I’m looking forward to…a lovely 2 day spa break in Manchester
Next month I hope to splash some cash on…this jacket that I guess everyone and their cousin, aunty and sister has lol (of course it's sold out in the UK just as I have got paid -_-)
