Protective Styling Challenge Part 1- Lace Wig Update!

Hey guys I have been protective styling for 5 weeks now. And along those 5 weeks I was considering buying a lace wig, why? Well compared to a weave:

• I can access my scalp by removing the wig daily/weekly
• I workout 3x week so I need to be able to properly wash my hair 1xweek
• It lasts much longer

After A LOT of research (on youtube and Black Hair Media) I decided to purchase a lace front wig from Miss Wigs, a light yaki in colour 1B. Four essentials for buying a lace wig:

• It's human hair
• It has parting space (so you can part for at least 2.5 inches so it is more realistic)
• It costs no more than £100 (I know lace wigs go for £200+ but no thanks lol)
• It is reccommended (if unsure youtube and search!)

So I ordered Miss M, 14 inch from Miss Wigs on Sunday, it was here by Thursday. Very very impressed. I did have to pay for international shipping I think about $35. Miss Wigs is a CV (Chinese Vendor). UK ladies if you're thinking about buying a lace wig I would not purchase from your local BSS, really they're overpriced. The average price for a synthetic lace wig is about £60 in my local BSS' and that is with no parting space, from a CV you can get a nicer synthetic lace wig WITH parting space.

My simple lace wig regimen will be as follows:

Sunday: DC, shampoo and co-wash my hair, add leave-ins and plait my hair in cornrows

Monday-Saturday: apply lace wig everyday and remove at night, every other day I will moisturise my hair with my braid spray

I will still continue to apply castor oil 1x week
I have no immediate plans to relax my hair

This is how I hope to apply my lace wig to make it look more realistic (minus the elastic band)

Haul/Clip-Ins Part Two

SO...I feel kind of bad because I broke one of my Hair-resolutions to avoid buying more products. However I needed these. Here's what I got from the local hair shop:

In this pic: magnetic rollers (for roller sets on wet hair, which I want to try soon) in medium and large (£2.50 in all), human hair 14-inch for clip-ins, wig clips and Elasta QP DPR-11 moisture DC- I'll alternate this with my hair mayonnaise protein DC after washing to get my moisture/protein balance right.
I bought the clip-ins because the hair I have is colour 2 which is too light. My hair is a mix of black and brown. However  I saw a great idea from Hairlista to make clip-ins a protective style! Here's the clip-ins I made (I previously did a clip-in tutorial):

I sectioned off a small section of hair at the front and pinned that out of the way. I then did a French plait of all the hair at the back and pinned it. I put the clip-ins over my hair at the back so the back of my hair is protected and not exposed. Here I am with the first clip-in:

By the time I finished my own hair at the back is completely covered:

Just the front section is left out and I blend it by moisturising and brushing the clip-ins and my own hair. Look how well it blends :)

This beats wearing a half-wig for me at the moment- they're a lot more money in England then America- although it is still on my wish list. I'm happy with my clip-ins I'll probably wear them on weekends and bun throughout the week, easier to do as I'll be so busy with work.
